At the Kent State Student Multimedia Studio, it is filled with equipment used for editing pictures, videos, and computers. The computers are filled with all the adobe software and more. There are also staff that can help you if you have any issues or need help editing.

Writing Commons:

  • Located on the 4th floor of the Kent State library

    • Thursday: 10am- 9pm
    • Friday: 10am- 5pm
    • Saturday: 12pm- 4pm
    • Sunday: 3pm- 10pm

The Writing Commons is 1-on-1 tutoring sessions to help improve your writing. The sessions last about 45 minutes. But there also other workshops offered at the Writing Commons. Other things they offer is say for example you have to write a paper for this class and you need to do really well on it, the staff at the Writing Commons will proof read and critique your paper.

Drop- In Math Tutoring:

  • Located on the second floor of Kent State library
  • Usually open between 9am- 7pm (depending on what math class you are in)

The drop-in math tutoring is offers sessions that fit to your schedule. All you have to do is show up whenever. Based on what class you have, they have certain hours you can come where there is a staff that specialize in that area of math.

Interlibrary Loan and Article e-delivery:

This is how all the books, articles, magazines, and etc. are provided for the library.  This is a way you can loan books or articles.  You can loan a book or article up to 6 weeks but then renew it if you need to which is super nice. Another neat thing is that they can also deliver to your dorm.

Textbooks on Reserve:

Textbooks on Reserve is basically the library of all textbooks for all classes. This comes in handy if say in the beginning of the year, the bookstore is sold out of your textbook and you need it for an assignment, you could come here at have it for a certain amount of time. Or this goes on throughout the year if you never got the book and need it for an assignment.

This is basically a program that allows you to access databases and etc. to see online journals and articles without having to download any software or pay access to it.
